productivity is a buzzword that has come to mean so much and so little, it's been drained of its meaning. Some people who have followed this stuff now think of productivity as this navel gazing exercise in spending your day thinking about productivity itself. As I think of it today, productivity means that you are having some degree of success in setting aside the things that you don't want to or don't need to be doing in the service of repeatedly making things that you like or that you care about. And for most of us, given any number of factors that we're happy to talk about, I think that's a difficult ongoing exercise that requires a certain amount of constant refactoring.
