Walter benmin was a jewish thinker from the early twentieth century. He showed us how bleak life has become in the modern world. Democracy is just an illusion that makes us think we have some say and how things go. Our long lives are full of alienation and futility. We're all just hogs in the capitalist machine. That's what modernity is really about.
