I was a young kid who didn't have the first idea what he was doing, frankly. And I'd always wanted to be in finance. My uncle Harry, when she was about eight or nine years old, was the coolest guy I knew. He was just a fun guy to be around and I discovered later on that he was a foreign exchange dealer. So that was what I wanted to be. I had no idea what it was. But very fortunately, I actually got a job in my school,. In the sort of settlements department of what was then the Euro bond department at a merchant bank in the UK called Robert Fleming and co., which later got swallowed up by Chase.
