And if I'm not mistaken, this was also the, I'd bring it back to the Oscars again, the first digital shot film. Yeah, first digital shot film to win the summer talk. I imagine that's true. Yes.

Because it was still

pretty new. And looking back, oh, it is a very digital film. It's so belongs to that era where people had just discovered digital color timing. It is, I think maybe outside of the first magic mic, the yellowest movie ever

seen. It's very yellow orange. It makes your teeth hurt sometimes. I do kind of love how vibrant it is. Yes. But it is. Yeah, because right, like, I'm trying to think of what the next, well, I guess Avatar wins the next year. So right.

Really quick speaking of the Oscars, I did some, a bit of research. I think this is the first movie to win Best Picture without a significant

white character. That has to be true. Right. What even comes close? I don't

know. Yeah, there's the last Emperor, but that has. It's

not Sam Watterson who is a

season. It does have a lot of character.

Martin Sheen is in one of those sort of like Tony 80s film set in a foreign country by Cameron, which

yes, but the last Emperor is, of course, largely non-white. Yes. Yeah. But yeah, no, you're no, no, no. It's like the third, you know, build guy in it. There's no doubt. But look, semi-tellingly, it falls into a similar category with that film and also with Parasite, which is rare best picture winners with zero acting nominations. Mm-hmm. It does happen. Yeah. It does happen. Look, it happens with Return of the King. It's not like it's without exception, but it does feel like- You know what else happened with Gigi? Yes. That's one reason Gigi went nine for nine. Because it didn't have to lose any acting. Which is so weird that it didn't. I don't understand how you like that movie and don't nominate Leslie Coron. Exactly. So I think it's the most undeniable aspect of a film I don't like very much. It's very strange because she didn't sing as my guest. Sure. Singing was dubbed. And I think it must have been some weird judgment about. But her performance is great. Here's the other weird thing about Gigi and then I'll shut up about it. I just did- Have you ever seen Gigi? No. Podcasts, Scott Ockman's Park. David just saw Gigi for the first time. A film that is demented. It is a bizarre movie. Yes. Maurice Chavalier, obviously, is the, you know, the old guy- Sing Kevin, footy to the girls. That's a song he sings in the movie. He was nominated to a neighborhood watchdog list after that performance. He was given an honorary Oscar that year. Okay. So they essentially were like, we're not nominating you for Gigi. Here is an Oscar for your whole thing. Okay. Your whole Maurice

guy thing. Yes. Thirty years from now you'll be a candle. You can be a lumiere. Right. Anyway.

I think- I'm

sorry. I was just trying to find what this marks you. Oh, it's Gandhi. Gandhi. Gandhi, obviously, best picture winner. Yes.

But that

has more white characters. Yeah. That's evil English villains. I just think very often we have these films that are, have a largely international or exclusively international cast. None of the cast members end up breaking through to nominations. Dev Patel came close. And Dev Patel, there was the weirdness of whether he was leader supported. I was in thought. I think he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award.

I am to

this day not sure if he's a lead actor. I think he's the only. He's not in a lot of the film. The kids are so crucial to the first half. Yeah. But it's sort of, I mean, it's sort of a Hopkins silence of the lambs thing where it's like the movie is so much from- Yeah. From his perspective. Yes. So I would err on this a bit also because he was not a well-known actor. Yeah.

They will often just sort of

be like, well, put him in support.

He did get the BAFTA nomination.

Yes. They put him in lean. I believe so. Yeah. And they believe he got a SAG nomination. Did he not? SAG was supporting, though. Yeah. Yeah.
