Politics as a Lagging Indicator

Politics is a lagging indicator, its trailing behind pop culture. You don't get elected by being t on the fringe of public opinion. It stunts certain things from occurring quickly. I think moving the culture in convulsions is almost always a terrible idea. E moving it incrumentally keeps you on the trail towards perfection.
