What Are the Economic Dangers of Speculation?
Elon musk can massively alter the price of crypto with just one tweet. Crypto currency isn't currently regulated in the same way that other parts of the stock market is. These larger currencies are still, as we've seen in the past couple of weeks, extremely volatile. They're affected by all kinds of political activity that's happening in the world. And when there is an economic slump, cryptois really heavily affected by it. It goes down ten, 20, 30% or even 50%. None of this would take away from financial capitalism, but it embodies some of the worst aspects of finance.
