Each of the musketeers, athos, porthos, aramis and d'artagnan all have great internal conflict because of their flaws. And that's what makes you feel connected to them. They're not these perfect heroes that are super polished and they're just constantly making the right choice. That would make the show incredibly boring to watch for small but each character is so masterfully done.
