In his new book, The Laws of Human Nature, David Perry argues that humans are basically born with the same kind of wiring of the brain. To become a human, to survive childhood and to survive the harshness of life, we have to become to a certain degree self absorbed. He says there are some people who never develop an inner thermostat that raises them up when they're not feeling loved enough or don't have enough attention. And so he wants us to stop moralizing and dividing people into their narcissists,. Their aggressive, their people who are envious, their, you know, people who have this problem or that problem.
