The Rise and Fall of White Trash

The term white trash, it appears in the early part of the 19th century, was originally a black American term that was used by slaves. The implication is these are the white people who are as far from social respectability as black people are. And they're trash. Yeah. We need a word for whitePeople who are as low as black people and we're using the literal word for garbage, which I guess is not a compliment to anyone.
