The ABM Treaty, Did George W Bush Pull Out of That Treaty?
In 2002, the United States withdrew from the ABM treaty. It is interesting to think how different any conflict since then could have been if those countries had even a rudimentary anti-satellite capability. When he appointed Rumsfeld as the Secretary of Defense, it was well known that Rumsfeld was a promoter of space-based BMD and anti-s satellite weapons.
