Microgravity in space is a key potential avenue for this research. We've gone with the fish tank approach, and you're using the buoyancy of water to sort of hold the object up as you're manipulating it. So there's this big problem of space debris, largely made up of non magnetic metals. And so we really need to be simulating microgravity on earth.

An ancient solar storm helps pinpoint when Vikings lived in the Americas, and using magnets to deftly move non-magnetic metals.
