The Genetic Move That Led to My Olympic Career
Gymnast's Olympic story started and ended with measles. He had a gymnastics move that led him to a lot of the work he does now. The beam is usually for most gymnasts, the most nerve-wracking events to compete. But it was something I could do really easily in training. And even in low level competitions or low consequence competitions? Even on big internationals, I'd fall. Once I've fallen the first time, I think that then set up that little bit of fear. When I came into an ex-big competition, that falling was actually even a potential outcome. That just set up a vicious cycle.
