i think one thing's probably that's most important s of o figuring stuff out for oneself and so on, as is developing a certain degree of confidence. And for myself, it was fortunate in that i managed to have good success early in my life doing what was, at that time perceived a sort of top field, tcphysics. That experience definitely helped in giving me confidence to go and do other things.
