The Benefits of a Fuel Cell System

Cara: I'd love to hear your thoughts on a fuel cell system where you take excess solar power from your roof in summer and turn it into hydrogen. In winter, you reverse the process and generate electricity from the hydrogen. The problem with using hydrogen as an energy storage medium is that the turnaround efficiency is not very good. Cara: So this is best for an off-the-grid system; if you're using solar power for your home in the middle of nowhere, winter's going to be tough because you have no grid access.
