How to...use the verb "wish"

Confident Business English

CHAPTER

Wish Plus the Past Perfect

I wish I hadn't eaten so much yesterday. If I don't do anything, even on a Saturday or a Sunday, I feel like I'm being lazy. So we can use it to talk about regrets that are very superficial or regrets that are more kind of deep. The last one is wish plus the past perfect. You can use that or not. It's generally when we want to talk about people who are doing or not doing something that we don't like and we want them to change what they're doing.
