Grief is a process, like any biological or psychological event. It has a beginning, a middle and an end. Being able to orient in terms of where you are in that process can be immensely beneficial for predicting how long it's going to last. Grief rarely responds well to anti depressence, whereas depression can often respond well to anti deprescence. Everything we know and understand about grief is that it is a distinct psychological and physiological event in the brain and body from depression.
