Theranos and CMS - What's Next?
In July 2016, CMS banned Holmes from running a blood testing lab for two years. Theranos admitted to regulators that they threw away all Edison test results from 2014 and 2015, avoiding tens of thousands of tests. It's nearly impossible to quantify exactly how many patients may have received erroneous results that were mistakenly acted on. A professor at Ross School of Business said it was possible that Holmes' ban could be a blessing to Theranos and that the company could continue on without her.
