When we are stressed, our heart rate quickens. Fuel is shuttled towards the big muscles of the body to generate large movements. The shake actually is the consequence of trying to not move when we are stressed. Under those conditions, you cannot see things in your periphery as well as you could prior to being stressed. You become exquisitely good at measuring small, detailed changes in whatever it is that you happen to be looking at. And so all the more reason why stress is kind of a double edged sword.
