Crime Is a Regressive Tax on Poor People
i was talking with roy techer about this on my podcast the other day. It is bizarre to me that it should ever have to fall to me, knuckle dragging, right wing troglodite that i am. There's a very strong liberal case to be made for fighting crime. Crime affects poor neighborhoods. Poor people are victims of crime more than those in upper tax brackets. The idea that somehow enforcing criminal justice laws ... betrays a hundred years of polling about what poor people want.
