AI can already write, code, research, analyze documents, answer customers, create images, automate workflows, and help one person accomplish work that once required an entire team. But what does that mean for employees, entrepreneurs, investors, parents, and the future of real estate?
The evidence so far is complicated. AI isn’t causing mass unemployment across the economy, but there are early warning signs, especially for younger workers in jobs where AI can automate entry-level tasks. At the same time, AI is producing enormous productivity gains and giving entrepreneurs capabilities that were once available only to much larger companies.
I also explore why the rise of AI could make ownership, physical assets, infrastructure, energy, and land increasingly important. AI may live “in the cloud,” but data centers need real estate, electricity, water, fiber, roads, transformers, and physical infrastructure.
For land investors and real estate investors, that raises a fascinating question: instead of only asking where people are going, should we also be asking, where is the power?
We’ll also look at which careers may be more resilient, what parents should teach their kids, why agency and judgment could become more valuable, and the five things I’m focusing on to prepare for the next 10–20 years.
