The Chipstone Chair of the Restoration Period

The turned ornamentation on the chair back is unusual. Along the top edge there is a simple arcade of seven little rounded arches, almost like an arcade on a romanesque monastery. The 13 carved rosettes seem to be in some kind of special configuration. And that configuration mimics alchemical drawings such as the illustration in robert flood's book of the circle of urinary colors.
