On Duty Versus Oncall?

Oncall is you are responsible for the vitality, the up time, the responsiveness of the service during your shift. On duty means some sort of high quantity of work that needs to be done. Some teams optimistically overload oncall to also include people due on duty. Others keep it separate. It comes down to how capable are you and your team of being simultaneously on call - even if almost nothing happens.
