Introduction
HIV-mediated immunosuppression can leave patients vulnerable to opportunistic infections. OIs arise from a wide range of bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic pathogens. The incidence of most OIs has drastically decreased with the advent of anti-retroviral therapy. But their morbidity and mortality remain high in uncontrolled HIV.
