What Is the Most Basic Confession for Understanding the World?

Church fathers were compelled by the new testaments witnessed to jesus christ to articulate a new starting point for understanding the world. God as trinity became a fundamental confession about the nature of god, and therefore a fundamental understanding About the nature of creation and of human life. Creation is to be understood relationally, not in terms of rationalized objects of meaning. Reason in our time is not the outworking of love in relationship with god and the world, but it is now a tool for calculation, control, efficiency and manipulation - albeit without goals or ends or purposes.
