The Importance of Epithets
The figure of Christ is not a new phenomenon. We've got all of these different iterations and while that is muddling or muddying the waters, there is credence there. There was a king, historical king, at least referred to in the Sumerian Kings list, who was known as Demusid the fisherman. And we have his epithets, Christ's epithets is the bridegroom, Demusid is the brideGroom. The fact remains, there are numerous instances where these epithets,. these terms, these aspects are so analogous. I'm going back to the word bewildering.
