The Social Construction of Truth
Hacking has a nice way of talking about how this plays out in natural science. I agree with him when he talks about it going way, way back to long-held philosophical disagreements. So race and gender fall into that category as opposed to the same arguments you'd be having about Quarks. There are very overlaid aspects of the sort of truth fact, nature of truth question, as well as the, is this socially constructed in sort of a product of society kind of way? That's what we'll get into today.
