There's so much in this topic, it's hard to imagine a human being having an experience of shame, guilt, remorse or inadequacy that did not have some kind of cognitive element of standards rules. If there shoods around, like when i think about a hawk, the hog does what the hawk does and neither of them feels shame about anything. And so it's really important to track our shoods. Also be aware of the short hop, based on our biology, between experiences of contamination and a sense of personal shame.
