"Even without combat the Marine Corps brings you to a depth of yourself that you never knew existed," he says. "It made me who I am and that's why I say I was born here." On their return from Vietnam both Bill and Chuck joined the Vietnam veterans against the war movement. They were trying to figure out what to tell people when they asked them about life over there, but no one wanted to talk about it.
