The study also valuated the importance of variables in predicting mortality. The machine learning portion of it was looking at factors in relation to outcome. Our phenotype, in using the l c a, was agnostic of outcomes. So we did not include how they did in the end when we tried to identify these sub groups,. It was just based on their initial characteristics.
