PhD Advisor - What Are the Challenges for PhD Students?

The pandemic has mostly shut that down for all intents and purposes, I would say. But even before that, the ability of a student working on a dissertation in the U.S. to spend time in China had narrowed considerably. The questions remain as interesting as ever, but the ability of students to get good information really has closed. So that affects the way you advise students.
