Christianity Is a Chameleon Like Character of Christianity
Christianity has a huge capacity to mutate, like all successful world faiths. Jesus seems to have maintained that the trumpet would sound for the end of time very soon. Yet his followers remarkably quickly seemed to question the idea that history was about to end. They also survived a major crisis of confidence at the end of the first century when the last days did not arrive. This was perhaps one of the greatest turning points in the christian story which shaped it into a very different institution from that of its founder,. or even of its great apostle, paul.
