How to Work on Paper and Card

I really struggle with canvas to be fair and I've just bought a giant one for the same reasons you said. Where I do work differently is when I decide to work on paper which I also enjoy. If I put a couple of coats of jesso on then I much prefer it then it feels more like wood in a way. One thing I have found I loved is mount board it's called in the UK in the US it's what you use to create mats for paintings. Although framing is more expensive at least you get to paint and explore and do multiple pieces without it costing you a lot up front.
