I think it's just like really really beneficial to think about the beginning of an engineer sort of life cycle with the company through their interview process and onboarding. I have always strategically gotten deeply involved in engineering onboarding as this first touchpoint for engineers. You have a disproportionate amount of leverage on how you influence the culture in those first few weeks of an engineers experience. How are you helping them feel a sense of belonging to the team and organization so I always start there.
