Both were triggered by different on chain transactions. Both have the same end result that L and D nodes fell out of sync. It's interesting that you say you're for, one of the interesting things about the situation is depending on your bias. I've noticed people using it to argue against multiple implementations and for multiple implementers. It's just classic Bitcoin.
