Systems Thinking vs Linear Thinking for Software

In my neck of the woods, it's pretty inescapable. If you needed a website or web application for example, then you install something like Drupal and then you'd add custom module after custom module right. And now there's multiple platforms of numbers of different types of services just to make up one platform. How we design event based interactions across the system of multiple platforms in spaces that used to be a single piece of software. I feel a responsibility myself to continue to try and build things and design things and put things into the world that are useful and, and do no harm. The interconnectedness of data and information and experience is expanding so rapidly so rapidly we can't really keep up
