The Importance of Sports in the Asian American Community
When Jeremy Lin got really big, and then was there sort of a revelation for our community of like, oh, he's Asian American, he made it. Maybe this is a viable path for my kids or for myself. And I feel like once you kind of see someone make it, it becomes a realistic path, like something that you can actually walk down yourself. Also, just growing up at my schools, there were definitely a lot of Asian students who are very athletic for sure, and did a lot of sports.
