The Importance of Consciousness
In Nietzsche's view, one of the factors that motivated human beings to be able to think rationally at all is fear. And so you have long eons of evolution reinforcing the impulse. So it's through fear indirectly and thus in a sense through force, it's coercion, right? That we get the perception of time, the self-awareness of consciousness,.
