Is There a Legality Issue Over Love Letters to Sellers?

We had a lot of feedback on last week's listener question. Some states have made it illegal for buyers to send sellers love letters. The logic behind these laws is that by writing these letters, you signal things about your race, ethnicity, gender, or religion and might lead to discrimination.
