Brady's Limerick

I'm sorry I've been such a grump. To be honest, I feel like a chump. But I hope you can say that it's not you. It's me. The black stump was used in a lot of limericks. People got really into the black stump. You'd be surprised how many people noticed the fact that Brady rhymes with both shady and lady. That had to have been a prominent feature. This one's got an element of truth to it as well. From small pens to rice rats and cricketers, nice bats, gray is always the last one to know.
