The Ups and Downs of Living in the Airport
Moran was born in Iran and later spent time living in Belgium and France. He wanted to move to the UK in search of his estranged British mother. It's not clear how he ended up without a passport. Some say Moran left Iran willingly, some say he burned his Iranian ID papers. In 1999 he was granted refugee status and the rights remain in France. But Moran didn't want to remain in France - he felt he had been treated badly there.
