Joseph Coney's Lord's Resistance Army was not active in Uganda when the documentary went viral. It had no positive impact on the ground and it had several negative impacts as best elucidated by Ugandan human rights lawyer with Segway Bois, uh, Mwissagir. Many Ugandans will continue to be asked about Coney and whether they are one of his victims. The simplifying of the narrative has just added a new layer of stereotypes for Ugandans.
