In your new book, rise, you wrote that you were born in 19 68, the same year as asian america itself. Can you say more about what that means? 19 68 was a unique year in which the term asian American was used publicly as a self identification term by a group of pan racial, pan cultural agents. And when i say it's kind of the birth year of asian America, it really means it's the beginning of asian Americans coalescing and collaborating as a group across athenicities.
