Khajou Surfed Out in the Open

Khajou began teaching tourists how to surf, showing beginners how to balance on their boards. She was thrilled to support herself as a surf instructor but wished she could be doing more. Rhonda Harper founded Black Girl Surf to help more black and brown women break into the mostly white, mostly male world of professional surfing.
