There is real data that backs up the argument that we should be talking to strangers. People tend to really enjoy it and find it surprisingly pleasant, enjoyable and and maybe life affirming in some way. Talking to strangers you know, as equals can reduce partisanship. It can reduce prejudice. There are all these benefits to what seem like pretty simple interactions.
