The Pathology of Lymphoma
Doctor Mason: We're looking at an agenty section, usually, first off. And a few things that we try get from that is the architecture of the lymph node. Is there normal, preserved architecture in the node? Or is architecture effaced, or overrun by some abnormal process? Then we're also looking at the morphology of the cells themselves. So how big are they? Are they small cells, which make us think about maybe more indolent lymphomas? Are they large cells that make us thinking about a more aggressive limphoma? Lots of mitotic figures that make us think the prolivertive rate might be really high, and maybe that's a more aggressive type
