The Mystery of Great Zimbabwe

During the period in which Rhodesia was governed as a white supremacist state, the government actively tried to suppress discussion of Great Zimbabwe. The spiritual and cultural significance of the site to the Shona and other Bantu-speaking peoples is sometimes at odds with its status as a historical site. Even though it is a protected site, there is still controversy that sort of broils around it.
