EU's Economic Power and Security Challenges

This chapter examines the evolution of the European Union's economic strategy in light of international challenges, particularly its response to Russia in 2022 through sanctions and asset freezes. It highlights the fragmentation within the EU's economic security framework and proposes the establishment of a European Economic Security Network to foster collaboration among member states. Furthermore, the discussion addresses the EU's need to bolster its economic security capacity while navigating complexities and vulnerabilities in its relationship with the United States.
