The Great Lakes - Takeaway Number Zero

The Great Lakes are entirely the traditional land of native peoples, including the Haudenosaunee. The word Michigan comes from a French version of an Ojibwa Anishinaabe word. All four of these lakes had other names that other native peoples gave them as well. There's not just one unitary one.
