Gravitational Waves From Supermassive Black Hole Colliding

Supermassive black holes are very far away in the universe. If we were right next to one of them, we might be lucky enough to get a signal. But because they're also far away, the signal that comes off them all sort of merge into one. Just for one wavelength to oscillate completely takes a light year in terms of distance. You need these things called pulsar timing rays which I'm sure we'll get into a bit later.
