John Kidd's Criticism of Gabbler's Ulysses

In 1993, when I read Ulysses, I read the Gabbler edition. And as far as my brain knows, that is the only one I can buy. That is the official Ulysses. It's clear to me that like, this is my only option. As that was coming out as it was being published, suddenly the self-taught auto-diadact Joyce Critic, John Kidd, appears in the New York Review of Books. But he's more than just a critique, right? "It's just this scathing attack of Gabbler's methods and of his edits"
